Note
: Unless you have your internet browser set up to check for new data each time you visit a site, it is important that you force a page REFRESH on each frame/page that you visit as you move around this website.  Not doing this will cause you to miss the new additions that I make.  Updates are on a regular schedule.

If you have safety related issues or concerns at the Avon Yard terminal, please contact your Safety Committee representative or the webmaster.   Form PI-82 for this purpose can be found HERE.

TellCSX was established to field the calls that come into the company each week with public concerns. Callers with non-emergency questions or issues should contact TellCSX.  TellCSX handles matters such as rough and blocked crossings, public safety concerns, operations issues, property and real estate inquiries, rail fan requests, and other general inquiries.

TellCSX is not for railroad emergencies.   All calls concerning suspicious activities, hazmat, environmental incidents, derailments, vandalism and other emergencies should go to the Public Safety Coordination Center (PSCC) at 1-800-232-0144.

The TellCSX phone number is 1-877-TellCSX, and the email address is tellcsx@csx.com. TellCSX call management software tracks calls and responses, and all callers receive feedback via telephone, letters or actions toward resolution.

  A  Message  From  The  Webmaster

A new year - a chance to renew our focus on SAFETY:
While the Safety performance of CSX employees continues to improve as a whole, some areas are still lacking.  As a new year begins, many people make resolutions about what they want to differently with their fresh start.  Resolutions cover all aspects of a persons life, including health, finances and relationships.  If you are making resolutions this year, don't forget SAFETY - on and off the job.  The fruits of a well made and executed resolution will mean little to you and your family if you are injured.  Don't become a statistic in 2009 - renew your SAFETY FOCUS every day and with each new task you start.  Make a mental assessment of possible hazards and take steps to prevent them from becoming an obstacle to your plans or dreams.  Be safe and prosper in 2010 !!

Viewing the website:

If you don't see a vertical frame on the left and a larger frame on the right, you will need to use the "refresh" function of your web browser.  You will probably have to do that for most of the other pages that you view too.

A website is only as good as the content it contains.  I can't be at every event that involves CSX employees.  I need help from everyone to make this site better.

Did you take pictures at a CSX function
or of people performing their jobs?   If so, please send them to me, in digital form, for inclusion on this website.

A note should be sent with the photo files  that tell about the content (place, date, names, etc.).

Please let me know how you like the new format.  Also let me know if you have trouble viewing any pages.

What would YOU like to see on this website?

Let me know and I will add it if at all possible.  The corporate legal department won't let me post "inside" company information.  They did say that information about the employees CAN be put on the site with permission from the employee involved.

I am asking that you send me information about anyone that will be retiring soon, or has recently retired.  Workers from Avon, Hawthorne and Transfer yards will be included.  Make sure you include the name, last work location, dates and places of service.  Information about family, hobbies and a PICTURE will add a nice touch to the posting.

Our intent is to make this site content-rich with useful  information and links so people will want to visit often.  Your suggestions and comments will always be welcomed.

Please let me know if you would like the documents in a format other than Adobe Acrobat.  I will try to accommodate your needs and/or wishes.

Please write to me with your nomination for the Safety Employee of the Month award.  The e-mail address is shown elsewhere on this page.  We are getting a few nominations, but we need more.  We hope to have written nomination forms posted in all buildings at Avon.
